Clay boonthanakit
Clay boonthanakit
MENTOR

Clay Boonthanakit, known to many as Claydohboon, is a dancer, choreographer, educator, and content creator whose exuberant authenticity is the foundation of his work. He began his journey in high school battles and competitions, leading his crew to multiple national championships. He later trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, and joined the first generation of GRaVy Babies—GRV’s junior team—before performing with crews like Family Bizness and Skopos. Driven by a passion for both movement and education, Clay became a founding member and video director at STEEZY, helping build one of the largest online dance education platforms in the world. His work continues to inspire dancers globally through accessible, story-driven content.

Weeks 1–2
Rebuild Your Foundation
Identify concrete milestones for the duration of the next 12 weeks. This helps you be intentional when you achieve a milestone, rather than skipping over celebration and moving ahead to next goalpost. Dream big and break it down into systems to incorporate every day. Get ready to actively allow yourself abundance: your identity transformation begins.
Week 3
Industry Research
Work on "Dreamlining" to find formal dance organizations that compliment your natural strengths and weaknesses, so you lead a sustainable career with room to breathe. We look at the exact countries, choreographers and companies that will suit YOU, and build a strategy to create your network with them in real-time. As the dance industry evolves, you will find that your goals will need to adapt. This is where having dynamic goals become important.
Weeks 4–5
Reels & Resumes
We research the exact audition you want to apply for, and personalize your reel and resume for that specific audition. The company vouches for you by looking at your audition materials, alone. Learn the structure of a stand-out reel and resume, to develop it for your next auditions.
Week 6
Become a Brand
You become the entity that pulls in projects you once auditioned for. Collaborations reach you. You build a persona that represents you authentically and attracts the right connections, leading to paid opportunities.
Week 7
Your Social Media
A professional dancers' Instagram account does not look like an influencer's. There are set points that recruiters look for in your account. Translate Week 6 into your online presence. Social Media becomes a tool, where views are nothing without conversion.
Week 8
Reflection
Check in with the systems decoded in Week 1. Are you applying them into your daily life? Prepare your materials and rubrics with Clay for the Mock Audition.
Week 9
Mock Audition
Every mentee auditions for their chosen project from Week 3, and present as casting directors for their peers' auditions. Practice presenting yourself in an audition: dressing, speaking and dancing. We invite guest judges who fill in your rubrics and provide feedback in real-time. Take the time to build your network with the guest judges, exchange contacts to stay in touch outside of The Mentorship Academy.
Week 10
Build Your Teaching Package
Create a systematic portfolio you can submit to dance festivals, studios and workshops all over the world. Even if you don't feel ready, every dancer has something to teach and something to share. Having a teaching package means your materials are now complete.
Week 11
Finances
Observe your current income streams and brainstorm relevant monetary pathways with Clay. Run projections to understand your ideal income: a different value for every dancer. Discover how dancers travel on a budget. Delve deep into your relationship with finances and begin the process of healing core beliefs relating to money.
Week 12
Mastery & Future Integration
No lose threads. We focus on what comes after The Mentorship Academy. Build your 5-year plan. Stay accountable with your cohort and Paloma.

Questions dancers ask before they say yes.

We don’t offer scholarships in the traditional sense, but we do support dancers in funding their tuition by connecting them with brand sponsors. You can find more information on how this works in the PDF linked below.

This process isn’t dependent on having a large online presence or following.

You will leave with ready to submit audition materials, and an experience of being in the audition room with the Mock Audition. We don't partner with companies hiring on spot.

At the end of the day, it is you who is taking action over the entire duration of the 12 weeks. Every dancer's journey looks different, and its just waiting to begin!

You will always feel the need to train more and that's valid. However, the actual way to become a professional dancer is not just training more. We all realize now, it's much more than that. Dancers are way more ready to be hired than they think.
